Photographing Karst Creek Falls in Strathcona Park | Vancouver Island

Looking for an easy hike on Vancouver Island, might I suggest Karst Creek waterfall in Strathcona Park. The waterfalls are 70 km outside Campbell River, BC along one of the most interesting roads to travel. Hint hint, the song 'long and winding road' by the Beatles comes to mind.   Follow highway 28 until you get to the Westmin Rd. intersection, head straight for another 9 KLM.  There is ample parking on the Karst Creek day site.  Across the highway you will find two trails. The main trail, twist and turns through the woods with underground water channels all the while heading up a hill. The second route is a little more adventures running alongside the creek.  It is so beautiful its, well worth getting wet. Take note the bridge is out on this route and during high run-offs it's difficult to cross as the water is high and flowing fast. There however a large tree that has fallen across Karst Creek. So if you have good balance this may be the route. Once at the main waterfalls you will spend hours taking pictures.
Don't forget to stop and admire the amazing scenery often we as photographers are so focused on taking the picture we forget to admire the surrounding landscape.
